Canadian Union of Postal Workers Strike 15th Nov 2024. Due to the ongoing national strike held by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, Canada Post has requested all international postal services, including NZ Post, to temporarily stop sending mail to Canada. This request is in place until further notice, as negotiations continue and backlogs are addressed.
If you have any questions regarding freight, that are not answered here or in the FAQ's, then please send us an email or phone us +64 9 522 1050 and we will do our best to help you.
To work out freight for your order, the easiest way is to put the items into the shopping cart. Then visit the cart page, and use our freight estimator tool. Select your country and postcode to see the freight options available.Â
Use air post for smaller, lighter items like the cowhide cleaner or sheepskin wool wash and possum merino knitwear. Maximum declared/insurance value is NZ$250 for International air post.
This is an un-tracked International parcel air post service. Registered mail is not available for parcels from New Zealand.
Delivery times vary depending on the country and the time of year. See www.nzpost.co.nz for more information on expected delivery times to your country.
Use tracked courier for larger more valuable items (over NZ$250 in value) like cowhide rugs or possum fur blankets.
Target delivery days are a guideline only, and we do not guarantee your item will reach its destination within the delivery target, especially at Christmas time or around public holidays.
Things like extreme weather events and strikes can affect deliveries. Delivery to areas outside major cities, or where your item is dutiable or is held in customs may take a little bit longer.
You are automatically covered for insurance with an International courier (not air post) for the 'declared value' in the customs declaration up to NZ$1500.Â
If you need more insurance this can be arranged for an additional cost. You need to tell us that you want extra insurance, please do not assume it is included in the price.
INTERNATIONAL NOTE: You are responsible for paying any customs clearance fees, duty or tax that your country customs authority charges (for example VAT in the UK). Most parcels go through customs without any issue, but occasionally customs will charge tax/duty at random and this is beyond our control. Every country has a different limit.
We can not predict which parcels will be charged tax or duties, but the higher the value the more likely that you will be asked to pay local tax. You need to be familiar with your countries tax laws if you shop online from overseas.Â
It is your responsibility to find out what taxes, duties and customs clearance fees might be charged for your country.
For the UK all parcels over the value of UK£15 may incur VAT of 20%. Europe may incur the VAT tax rate for your specific country.
NOTE: For Canada parcels over CAD$20 will incur a Canadian 10% GST and possibly a small customs clearance fee.
If your country is not listed then please contact us with your freight inquiry. We do not send products to Africa, South America and some parts of Asia or the Pacific Islands.
New Zealand - North Island parcels to Auckland, Whangarei, Hamilton, Tauranga, Napier-Hastings, Rotorua, Palmerston North, Whanganui, Masterton, Wellington are usually delivered in 2 to 3 days excluding weekends and public holidays. And dependent on weather. For rural addresses add another 2-3 days.
New Zealand - Waiheke Island is a 5-7 day service and is considered Inter-Island like the South Island. Waiheke Island is NOT considered Auckland and extra freight charges do apply.
New Zealand - South Island parcels for Nelson, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin, Queenstown and Invercargill is a 3-4 day service excluding weekends and public holidays. For rural add another 2-3 days. However the Cook Strait ferries are having issues.
Most parcels will need a signature, so please use a delivery address where someone will be home to sign most of the time, or let us know if NO signature is required and there is somewhere safe to leave your parcel.
If the courier company does leave your parcel, and it gets stolen from your safe place, then insurance does NOT cover the parcel because you gave permission to leave it without a signature.
*NZ Rural delivery always adds a few extra days to your delivery time. If you are a rural address, and your parcel says it has been delivered (but it has not been), don't panic. This usually means that it has been handed over to the local rural delivery person, who will then deliver to your door.
If you are not home, the courier driver should leave a calling card, (if it is safe to do so) with a phone number for you to call to arrange re-delivery. However this doesn't always happen.
Or you can give us permission, and we can tell the courier to leave your parcel somewhere safe, like your back porch or in the shed without a signature.
Over-sized extra large cowhide or leather ottomans can be delivered by truck within New Zealand. This service varies and only runs once a week for out of Napier deliveries. Ottomans are delivered the week following pickup for the South Island of New Zealand.
